DANVILLE, Calif.—Feb. 14, 2006 - Trainer Communications, a leading provider of strategic communications and public relations services for companies and start-up initiatives, announced today that three of its clients — — were acquired during the final two quarters of 2005, continuing a long history of positive liquidity events for Trainer clients.
General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) announced on Sept. 2, 2005, that it had completed its acquisition of Itronix Corp., a leading provider of wireless, rugged mobile computing solutions; operating as a General Dynamics company, Itronix remains a client of Trainer Communications. Five weeks later, on October 10, 2005, Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC) announced that it had completed its acquisition of Sygate Technologies, the market leader in network access control solutions for large enterprises. Less than a month later, on Nov. 2, 2005, Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) announced that it had acquired G-Log, a global provider of logistics and transportation management software.
“Trainer was more than our PR agency — they were our partner and ultimately became part of the Sygate family,” said John De Santis, former CEO, Sygate Technologies. “They brought two things to the table that helped Sygate tremendously — one was valuable communications strategy, and the second was the ability to execute on that strategy. Over the course of our relationship, Trainer did a great job helping us develop the story and secure coverage that clearly validated Sygate’s thought and technology leadership — which is why the relationship was so successful.”
Marybeth Stiberth, former director of corporate communications for G-Log, echoed similar sentiments. “Trainer Communications was the key driver of our outbound marketing efforts for more than three years, enabling us to earn recognition as a market and technology leader by Forbes magazine and the like. Trainer implemented a game-changing communications strategy for G-Log that immediately translated into new leads and helped us close deals — ultimately leading to a notable acquisition.”
“Dating back to Brocade’s initial public offering — which ranked among the top 10 IPOs of 1999 — we have built on that success to help more than 30 percent of our portfolio companies experience positive liquidity events,” said Susan Trainer, president of Trainer Communications. “With three blue-chip acquisitions in 2005, we feel a great sense of pride knowing that we played an integral role in evangelizing our clients’ value propositions to help them grow revenues and increase shareholder value. We expect similar success in 2006.”
